Shelly Finkel, who helped guide Deontay Wilder heavyweight glory as his co-manager, has given his reaction to Tyson Fury’s announcement that he is moving on from their obligatory trilogy fight.
At the weekend, Fury and his US co-promoter Bob Arum, explained the contractual clause binding them to a third meeting with the dethroned WBC champion has now expired, hence their change of direction.

“I was looking forward to smashing Wilder again. A quick and easy fight,” the WBC champion told The Athletic.

“But Wilder and his team were messing around with the date. They don’t really want to fight the lineal heavyweight champion.

“They know how it ends, the world knows how it will end – with Wilder on his ass again.

“Then they asked me if I would agree to push it to December. I agreed to December 19.

“Then they tried to change the date again into next year. I’ve been training. I’m ready.

“When they tried moving off December 19 and pushing to next year, enough was enough. I’ve moved on.”

Arum added on talkSPORT Fight Night: “Tyson Fury is a very intelligent man and he put it accurately that if he can’t do a Wilder fight in December, which it looks like can’t happen, he wants to fight someone
