I don’t like Ghana - Zlatan explains why

Image
Nigerian afro-pop musician Zlatan says he doesn’t like Ghana, and his reason is, he is yet to have a Ghanaian girlfriend. The “Zanku” singer, who has been in Ghana for some past three days for a collaborative work with Sarkodie, Fuse ODG and other musicians, has been enjoying his stay in the country but one ingredient is missing – and he is not happy about it. On Wednesday, October 7, he shared studio session photos with Sarkodie and Ghanaian American comedian Michael Blackson, and gave it a caption which suggests that the fun he is having in Ghana isn’t complete. “I don’t like Ghana only because I’m yet to have a Ghanaian girlfriend,” he captioned the photo.

Re- Alfred Rewane rail terminal Ujevwu- stoking the tinder box of ethnic strife in Delta State: A call for caution

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” -Vicktor Emil Frank Before Nigeria became independent of colonial rule, several attempts were made but they met a brick wall. As you are very well aware, internal strife was more of the problem than the occupier else we would have been sovereign before 1960. Sixty years on, those ideals of unity are still alien even when we should know better and work towards utopia. Today as a nation, we are hemorrhaging all around and within our nation. The ulcers causing so much loss of national cohesion are self-inflicted and as those you have broadcasted makes for poor prognosis. Delta State a little over a decade ago, was a place of bloodletting and if we take our history into cognizance especially for the remote causes of the war between tribe Itsekiri-Ijaw, Itsekiri-Urhobo- then we must be ashamed that we once had to fight bloody. INNOVATION FLAG OF MARS: ELON MUSK PROPOSES INCREDIBLE FALCON 9 PHOTO FOR SPACEX CITY

Image
ELON MUSK WANTS TO BUILD A CITY ON MARS BY 2050, AND HE'S EVEN GOT AN IDEA FOR THE FLAG. On Friday, the SpaceX CEO suggested a dramatic photo of a company launch showing a Falcon 9 rocket soaring into the air against the Sun could be the flag of Mars. Musk responded via Twitter to the photo, posted by photographer John Kraus, which shows the Falcon 9 sending up 60 satellites for the firm's Starlink internet connectivity constellation. The exchange highlights why SpaceX's Mars city could be more than just an outpost for astronauts. Musk has outlined plans to build the Starship rocket and send humans to Mars as early as 2024, establishing basic life support systems there before expanding out further. But experts have described to Inverse how the nascent city will have to consider emergent questions of identity, new economic systems, and biological changes from radiation. In this new city, a flag could act as a rallying point for a new community.

Burns Boy set to perform alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin at 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony

Multi-award-winning Nigerian Afro-fusion musician, two-time recipient of BET’s Best International Act award and MTV Europe Music Award’s Best African Act, Burna Boy, has been announced as a performer for the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards Ceremony. The home-grown international music star, who has also recently been nominated for “Best African Act” at the upcoming 2020 MTV European Music Awards, a title he took home last year, is to mark his first-ever live performance with Coldplay’s Chris Martin on their powerful collaboration in the track “Monsters You Made,” taken off Burna’s fifth studio album, TWICE AS TALL. ‘Monsters You Made’ is a song that serves an indictment on miseducation, historical injustice and systemic racism and Coldplay’s Chris Martin’s hauntingly poignant voice laces through the song, challenging what we think we already know about Africa and her history.
