The 2003 single proved to be a massive hit, but Sean Paul believes Jay-Z's jealousy is why he & BeyoncΓ© haven't come together to perform the track. The track has been a fan favorite for nearly two decades, but recently, Sean Paul spoke about the issue he's had with that collaboration. ‘I came up a black staircase’: how Dapper Dan went from fashion industry pariah to Gucci god

Image
It was a mentor on the gambling circuit in Harlem, New York, who gave Daniel Day the moniker that would make him famous. Day was just 13, but had revealed himself to be not only a better craps player than his guide, who was the original Dapper Dan, but also a better dresser. So it came to be that Day was christened “the new Dapper Dan”. It wouldn’t be until decades later that Day would truly make his name. Dapper Dan’s Boutique, the legendary Harlem couturier he opened in 1982, kitted out local gamblers and gangsters, then later hip-hop stars and athletes such as Mike Tyson, Bobby Brown and Salt-N-Pepa. His custom pieces repurposed logos from the fashion houses that had overlooked black clientele. A pioneer in luxury streetwear, Day screenprinted the monograms of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, MCM and Fendi on to premium leathers to create silhouettes synonymous with early hip-hop style: tracksuits, bomber jackets, baseball and kufi caps. In the process he became a pariah of the fas

Lido Protocol Does Eth 2.0 Staking but With a DeFi Twist

Image
There’s a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that lets ETH holders back Ethereum 2.0 without losing liquidity, and it wants to give its participants a vote. Until Feb. 12, ETH holders have a chance to earn some of the governance token for Lido, a new decentralized finance (DeFi) and staking protocol. There will be other opportunities in the future, but it’s up to LDO holders to decide when. Since Tuesday, the amount of ETH staked on Lido has more than doubled, breaking 60,000 ETH as of this writing. Lido sits at Ethereum’s sweet spot, putting the road to Eth 2.0 into DeFi. It gives people a fresh way to contribute ETH to staking on Ethereum’s new beacon chain but still unlock the value of their ETH. It’s one of those stories that somewhat strains credulity, very much an only-in-DeFi kind of scenario. So far it’s working. Kraken has already rolled out a similar product and Coinbase plans to, but those lack the element of distributed trust. An early backer of Lido an

Wow, There Is Creativity In Nigeria" Meet The Nigerian Man Who Built A Helicopter For The Nigerian ArmyGear

Nigeria is blessed with talented youths. We have heard about certain Nigerians who built helicopters, cars, drones and some other technologies with the materials they have around them. This is Creativity! If these people can get the right support from the Nigerian government, they are capable of getting much better with their creativity skill. Considering some developed countries such as China, Japan and USA, they make the world more civilized and make works easier through their improvements in technology. They never joke with the creativity skills in their youths and young adults. Whenever they discover any innate ability in a child, they help the child to develop it by supporting them with whatever they need. Unfortunately, things are different in Nigeria. We discourage youths with special abilities and they end up giving up on their skills. The few successful ones are the ones that travel abroad to where their skills would be appreciated. After ge

SDEXs like Uniswap has carved out a niche, how will 2021 play out?

Image
The year 2020 saw the cryptocurrency market reach new peaks. It also led to the development of decentralized exchanges and provided the opportunity for them to carve out a niche in the previously centralized ecosystem. The torchbearer for the DEXs has been Uniswap, whose growth astounded the whole crypto market. Even though an increased on-chain volume is expected for DEXs as every trade involves an on-chain transaction, Uniswap was leading among DEXs. The progress of DEXs can be visible in the on-chain ETH flows highlighted below. Source: Our Network Along with decentralized exchanges, the surging market also gave way to stablecoins to flourish in terms of volume. According to a report, the on-chain volume for stablecoins reached a new monthly high in December 2020 of $178.34 billion. This peak suggested a 20% increase from the previous months’ volume. Whereas compared to the previous high witnessed in September 2020, this was 11.3% or $18.16 billion higher. Te

Oasis Protocol Adds Shyft Network in Bid to Attract Institutions to DeFi

Image
The Oasis Protocol, a public blockchain with an eye on creating a more private and scalable version of decentralized finance (DeFi), has partnered with the compliance-focused Shyft Network. Announced Thursday, the partnership will deliver anti-money laundering (AML) strictures by leveraging elements of Shyft’s identity system and whitelisting of items/IP addresses, while also protecting users’ commercial and transactional data. There’s also a line to be walked on making DeFi compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the companies said.  Oasis Labs, creator of Oasis Protocol, raised some $45 million in a private token pre-sale in 2018, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Binance, Pantera and others. The Oasis mainnet, which went live in November, is a layer one blockchain that sets out to do the same sort of things as Ethereum, albeit in a way that is potentially more scalable. Nollywood's Omogoriola Hassan installed as new Olu of Uba Land, Imobi Kingdom

It is indeed a moment of joy and celebration for Nollywood actor and movie producer, Omogoriola Hassan, who has just been confirmed as the Olu of Uba Land, Imobi Kingdom. The actor had previously been installed as a king-elect of the land but a recent consultation with the oracle of the land has now confirmed his status as the one true king. Oba  Omogoriola  recently took to his official page on Instagram with a video that captured the moment chiefs of the town made an Ifa consultation to ascertain if he is the right candidate. According to him, the consultation became necessary as many have now resorted to using money and influence to snag traditional titles. In his words: "The office of an Ọba in Yoruba land is an hereditary office that is maintained by Royal families, but in order to be the one that is confirmed as an Ọba the chief priest and the town elders would perform an IFA consultation to confirm if they have the right person because many use influence and mon
